Academy of Music Venue Tours
Owned by the Philadelphia Orchestra and part of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, this magnificent 19th century opera house is the oldest venue in the United States still used for its original purpose. Take a tour of this historic venue including the Grand Lobby, the recently renovated Ballroom and the auditorium with its dazzling chandelier!

Curtis Opera Theatre: Empty the House

A composer who "breaks new ground" (Opera News), Rene Orth is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and an Opera Philadelphia Composer in Residence. Her 2016 opera Empty the House is a poignant exploration of the complex nature of forgiveness with a libretto by Mark Campbell (Elizabeth Cree, Silent Night).
